We are proud to announce that we have started our very special Cheetah Breeding Program, aimed at breeding captive Cheetahs for their young to be released into appropriate National Parks and conservancies around Zambia where Cheetahs once roamed freely but are now at a point of near extinction.
It is our intention to conserve these highly endangered and beautiful amazing animals for future generations. Cheetahs that are released into management areas will have the opportunity to breed without human interference and they will raise their own cubs till they are old enough to be safely relocated into suitable habitats.
In the mean time, Cheetahs in our Breeding Centers are raised by our handlers and guides. Research is conducted on every activity by our volunteers to gain accurate knowledge about the Cheetahs. This research in turn will assist us with the pairing for breeding and character assessment, ensuring they won’t be harmed when released into habitats occupied or was once occupied by other Cheetahs. Cheetahs in our breeding centers will have the chance to hone their hunting skills using our Cheetah Run Facility. The Cheetah Run Pulley System runs a lure along a zip line and the Cheetah’s chase this, keeping them fit, sharpens their hunting skills and will benefit them immensely when they stalk and chase their quarry in the wild.
We will also have a sponsorship program that will include a GPS tracking system that will allow you as a sponsor the ability to track your sponsored animal when it is released into the wild.
